Intel Extreme Masters Shenzhen kicked off yesterday with the StarCraft II players of groups A and B battling it out for a slot in the playoffs, and in the end, it was Snute, Classic, TY and Losira who emerged victorious. Today, it was time for the players of groups C and D to show off their skills and fight their way to the quarterfinals.

Group C

Group C was the group of the second European hope - uThermal. After Snute’s incredible performance yesterday, all eyes were on uThermal to see whether he could repeat the Norwegian’s success. In the end, the fans were not disappointed, with uThermal indeed securing a slot in the playoffs and defeating the Chinese players along the way. The second slot went to favorite of the group herO, who breezed through without dropping a single match.

Group D

Similarly to group A, group D saw a player replacement. Due to StarDust’s inability to attend the event, Kelazhur, who placed third in the American qualifier, took his place. Just like in group C, the favorite of this group was the only Korean, PartinG, who did not disappoint and took the playoff slot undefeated. The second slot went to Chinese player XY after he defeated Kelazhur in the losers’ bracket.
