The Frankfurt Major presented by ESL kicked off last Friday at Festhalle Messe with teams from groups A and B fighting for a slot in the upper bracket of the main event. Yesterday, it was time for groups C and D to begin their battle for the first ever Dota 2 major championship.

Group C

Group C had one of the event favourites, Team Secret, who recently won the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships and the MLG World Finals. The group also had the team who stepped in for Invictus Gaming, Newbee Young, who impressed everyone with their impeccable performance in game two versus Team Secret. In the end, Secret prevailed along with LGD Gaming and secured a slot in the upper bracket with Newbee Young and Cloud9 moving to the lower bracket.
