Astralis continued their dominant run back to undisputed no. 1 status in the CS:GO scene by winning IEM Beijing-Haidian without dropping a single map.

Although the Danish roster had relinquished their dominance over the game for a few months earlier this year, they are now firmly back in control. Their relentless display at IEM Beijing marked a return to “business as usual” for a team widely hailed as the best in CS:GO history.

Consecutive 2-0 victories over Vici Gaming and 100 Thieves in the Group Stage for the Danes set the stage for what was to come in the playoffs. Their semi-final against FaZe Clan saw them reach full Rektstralis form, sweeping the first map in the series 16-0, followed by a 16-2 score in Nuke.

The Grand Final saw them square up against 100 Thieves once again. Although 100T’s return  as an organization to CS:GO with the former Renegades roster was a success, disposing of ENCE and Vitality en route to Championship Sunday, Astralis would not be denied. The Danes pulled no punches by clinching the decisive series of the tournament in a 3-0 sweep.

This win means Astralis have now qualified for IEM Katowice 2020, the first-ever Masters Championship in the ESL Pro Tour, and a strong start to their challenge for the $1,000,000 Intel® Grand Slam in its 3rd season.
