Team Fnatic, currently the world’s #1 in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, has had pretty much the same lineup since 2014. The only new addition to the team was Dennis “dennis” Edman who joined the team on the 12th of November 2015, as a replacement to Markus “pronax” Wallsten.

Current Lineup of Fnatic:

  • Jesper “JW” Wecksell
  • Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
  • Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson
  • Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer
  • Dennis “dennis” Edman

Recent performances

With KRiMZ and olofmeister leading the stats and dennis shining off, Fnatic has been doing really great. Last year, having a successful run within the CS:GO circuit, Fnatic secured top three positions in most of the CS:GO tournaments they participated in. Some of their biggest achievements in 2015 were DreamHack Open Tours, DreamHack Open Summer, ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 and Season 2 as well as two Valve major titles, ESL One Katowice and ESL One Cologne.

Even this year, Fnatic had a good start  winning the StarLadder i-League StarSeries XIV Finals against Natus Vincere in January.

The champions return to Katowice

Being in Group A with some of their arch-rivals, it’s not going to be easy for Fnatic to win the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship. The team will have to battle it out against Natus Vincere, Luminosity, mousesports, Ninjas in Pyjamas and the IEM Taipei CS:GO Champions, The MongolZ.

In 2015, Fnatic faced off against NiP at the same venue at ESL One Katowice and stood victorious. It will be exciting to watch them compete against each other in the same group.

Moreover, Fnatic has a good recent match history against Na’Vi, having won four consecutive matches. Luminosity as well has lost three back to back matches to Fnatic in their latest encounters.

Fnatic has a history of winning tournaments whenever they have a good start. Will Fnatic be able to rise above and lift another trophy like they did last year, in front of the same crowd, in the same venue? Only time will tell.
