Update: 6:45 PM ET

Unfortunately, network issues at the venue here in Atlanta have slowed tournament progress. Due to this, we have some additional changes to the tournament structure to once again ensure match integrity is preserved and the tournament ends on a reasonable timeline.

  • Relegation matches are now taking place Saturday morning. (Previously scheduled for tonight)
  • Rounds 5-7 in the Loser's bracket will now be Best of 3 as the prior rounds were.

Thank you for your patience as we work with DreamHack and venue engineers to iron out these networking issues. Please follow @ESLHalo on Twitter for the latest.

It’s finally time for the Halo Championship Series: Pro League Summer 2017 Finals at DreamHack Atlanta! We're very excited that we were able to lift the 64 team cap for the Open Bracket, and can't wait to get the matches started.

Open Bracket registration closed with a final count of 81 teams. Including all 12 invited HCS Pro League teams from North America and Europe, this is now the biggest open event in HCS history. Thank you to all players for coming out to DreamHack Atlanta to compete.

We have reevaluated the schedule and have decided to update the format so that in the case of 64+ teams, the first four rounds in both Winner’s and Loser’s brackets will be Best of 3. With this change, we can ensure that the bracket does not run too late and preserve match integrity for teams entering Relegation and Championship Bracket.

Here’s a closer look at the map rotation for the initial four rounds of the Winner’s Open Bracket:
