The best teams across Europe and North America have just begun their battle in the Halo Championship Series: Pro League, but there is still a chance for teams outside of the Pro League to earn points and prizes and fight for a seat at the Summer Season Finals. In addition to the HCS Pro League, ESL hosts the HCS Open Circuit to provide a pathway for semi-professional teams to make their way into the Finals. The top two Open Circuit teams from each region will go on to compete against the bottom two Pro League seeds in a live-streamed Relegation tournament.
Anyone is eligible to compete in the HCS Open Circuit. Participants will battle for points to earn a spot at the Open Circuit Finals where the top sixteen teams from each region will fight to earn a seat at Relegation. Each week, there will be an Open Bracket on Saturday where all teams can play for qualifying points and entrance to the Sunday Legendary Bracket.
In North America, the top eight teams in the Open Bracket will earn a spot in the Sunday Legendary Bracket, where sixteen teams will fight for even more HCS Open Circuit points, a share of the weekly US$1,000 prize pool, and the chance to auto-qualify for the following week’s Legendary Bracket. The top eight teams in the final Open Circuit cup will automatically be placed in their region’s Open Circuit Finals, with the remaining eight teams determined by points.
To participate in the Open Circuit, simply go to the Halo hub on the ESL Play site for either Europe or North America, select the tournament you would like to compete in, and sign up. The first week of the HCS Open Circuit is already in the books, but there is still plenty of time to sign up for this Saturday’s cup. We hope to see you there!
