Share this article:

The ANZ qualifier for Intel Extreme Masters Sydney kicked off with an open qualifier with two teams, JAM Gaming and Athletico, securing a slot in the closed qualifier. A total of eight teams set out to compete in the closed qualifier, six of them receiving direct invitations. After several hard-fought matches, only Chiefs and Tainted Minds remain in the running for the last available slot at Australia’s first ever esports stadium event.

The bracket

Both Chiefs and Tainted Minds went through the upper bracket all the way to the winners’ finals where Chiefs took the victory with a 2-1 score. Tainted Minds only then moved to the lower bracket where they beat Team Immunity 2-1 and will now once again face Chiefs in the qualifier grand final on April 9.
