UK grand summer of eSports continues with the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019

Following the excitement of ESL One Birmingham in June, UK esports fans can look forward to another landmark date in the competitive calendar on home soil. On August 2-4, the best 32 EA SPORTS FIFA 19 players in the planet will gather at London’s The O2 for the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final with a $500,000 prize pool on the line.

Throughout the year, the top 16 Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players from across the globe racked up FIFA 19 Global Series points at various live events such as the monthly FUT Champions Cups, the FIFA eClub World Cup and the FIFA eNations Cup to earn their place at the Grand Final. Their whole season comes down to this tournament and you could be there to experience FIFA eSports at its finest live. And you’ll have the chance to get your hands on an early version of FIFA 20! Who’s playing?

English FIFA fans attending the event will have plenty of opportunities to break out the “it’s coming home” chants at The O2. Xbox One players Tom "Stokes" Stokes, Tassal “Tass” Rushan and Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt, one of the main favorites to win the tournament and the reigning ePremier League champion, will be the three lions eager to capitalise on their home field advantage.

Other challengers for the trophy, its $250,000 payout and an invitation to the The Best FIFA Football Awards™ include defending world champion Mosaad "Msdossary" Aldossary (Saudi Arabia), top PS4 seed Nicolas "nicolas99fc" Villalba (Argentina), France’s eNations-Cup-winning duo Corentin "Maestro" Thuillier and Lucas "DaXe" Cuillerier, Virtual Bundesliga champion Michael "Megabit" Bittner from Germany, and many more. Fans will be spoilt for choice when deciding who to root for. 

A true FIFA eSports festival
