MATCH PREVIEW: ELEVATE VS TOP TIER
The WGLNA Finals will start off with the first seed Elevate against the fourth seed team, Top Tier. Elevate are the heavy favorites to win this match and advance to the finals because of their arguably historic season. Elevate finished the season undefeated. eClipse were the only team to come anywhere near defeating Elevate.
Top Tier are a formidable roster in their own right, so don’t count them out of this match. If you look back two seasons ago to the WGLNA Finals in Vegas, eClipse came out of nowhere from the fourth seed to defeat what is now Elevate and win the championship match as well! Top Tier will be at an additional disadvantage with the loss of their star tank destroyer player, Pompous, as he rides out a short suspension as well as the team’s lack of live final experience.
MATCH PREVIEW: ECLIPSE VS DARE RISING
The second match of the day will be a close one as there isn’t a clearly superior team with these powerhouse number two and three seeds. eClipse edge out Dare Rising as the slight favorites as they finished second in the season and are the only team to do any sort of damage to Elevate. However, Dare and Eclipse did split their matches 1-1 during the regular season. Experience is on eClipse’s side though, as they have a WGLNA Championship under their belt and have never finished lower than second at the live finals before.
Dare Rising will be looking to improve upon their third place finish last season in this key match. Unless Elevate loses, the winner of Dare Rising vs. eClipse will be going to the Grand Finals in Moscow, so both teams need the win here and now or their Moscow dreams will be crushed. Dare showed some stellar performances this season in key wins against teams like eClipse, Top Tier, and more, which hints at the possibility of this being a longer match. One round could mean the difference between victory and defeat.
