12 players drop out after the open bracket - who survived day one of Taipei?

After a busy first day, the Intel Extreme Masters StarCraft II open brackets have finished and all the contenders for the main event are set. Sixteen players went through the two double-elimination brackets, with four of them advancing to the group stage.

TRUE, Soulkey, Hyun and Check managed to prevail against the likes of Team Liquid herO as well as Apollo’s open bracket standout players Snute and Leenock. Check and Soulkey both had to play 13 maps on day one, so it remains to be seen whether they will show any signs of tiredness tomorrow!

The four Koreans now have to finish in the top two of their respective groups in order to advance further in the tournament. Check out the group stage games for groups A and B tomorrow live on stream from 11:00 to 17:00 local time (04:00 to 10:00 CET).
