With the semifinal matches dealt with and competitors Phillip “SineX” Zoschke and Jakub “Lothar” Szygulski no longer in the running, Hearthstone's final showdown was revealed to be between our two invitees Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski and Marcin “Gnimsh” Filipowicz. The two Team DogeHouse teammates competed in a best of five Grand Final, with Gnimsh winning the first round decisively only to have Artosis pick up the second due to a dead-end hand. The third game looked like it might go to Artosis as well, but a timely Sylvanas followed by a Flamestrike allowed Gnimsh to turn the game in his favor and ultimately claim victory. The fourth and final match saw Gnimsh dramatically defeat Artosis's warrior deck, with a turn ten lethal winning him the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship title.

Gnimsh, not the first Pole to pick up a win at the Katowice-based tournament, said of the win on his Facebook page:

"Apparently dreams do come true. First IEM Hearthstone Champion title acquired. Pure bliss."
